DAY 17 - Foretold - THE RIGHT QUESTION

Matt 2:2

'Soon afterwards, some men who studied the stars came from the east to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the baby born to be the King of the Jews?"' (GNB)

Acts 1:11

'"Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw him go."' (NKJV)

Rev 1:7

'"Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him."' (NIV)

Luke 17:21

'"The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, "See here!" or "See there!" For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."' (NKJV)

The Magi needed to know where Jesus was born in order to go and present their gifts to him. They may have asked the wrong people, but at least the question was right.

But now we do not need to ask where he is, or when he will return... the scripture I've quoted from the book of Revelation shows that everyone will see him when he comes again....we're not going to miss it! And Jesus made it clear that only God the Father knows when that will be. (Matt 24:36).

It is enough for us to know, in the light of biblical prophecy (much of which seems to be unfolding before our eyes), that it will be soon.

The question we must ask is this: 

"What sort of person should I be, and what kind of life should I be living?"
