I have known escapes from death in my own life and in the lives of those I love. I can think of quite a few, actually......there was the house fire when I was a student and the time the car in front of us on the fast lane of the motorway suddenly lost control and veered off the road onto the only part for miles where there was a grass verge in between the carriageways, and an incident at a firework display.... and there were others....
and you hear so many stories of people being saved by angels or strangers who suddenly disappeared after they'd rescued someone.
But there are times when it doesn't happen.
I firmly believe in God's protection over our lives but we cannot escape suffering completely this side of heaven. Let us not be afraid, but put our trust in our heavenly father; his strong, loving arms are always there for us.
